Round’em Up

Thursday, May 20th, 2010

I have to admit, I have been away from “Blog-Land” way too long and I missed it so! I have been busy with my new business venture {Wedding Planner} and I must say, ” I LOVE MY JOB!” its the best being your own boss!! I realize (now that I’ve got the hang of things, new job, new husband, and so on) I have to prioritize. Meaning: managing my time better. I was finding that I was getting too tired at the end of the day to do some of the things I love most… My Blog being one of them. I’m officially back in the saddle and must say it feels great! It’s hard to get TRULY organized. Its nice to have my little web log here in cyber space, its such a great outlet for me in so many ways!! :)

Any-hew, enough gushy stuff – Since I have been away, I still found time to READ through my faves ;) (tee-hee) and I have “Rounded Them’up” to show you and just so I can keep them for myself! Enjoy!! {More to come}.

It was really hard to pick my favorite. The Inspired Bride’s Blog {one of my favorite reads} has a wonderful “DIY week”. To learn how to make this desert chic center piece and MORE hop over to The Inspired Bride Blog.

If you love to entertain and need some help with the dessert menu, ALWAYS start with Bakerella! She is always whipping up something delicious and super fun. Be sure to look through her archives for some fantastic ideas.

“Love” spelled with cookies, now what could be sweeter??Photo credit: Stephanie Williams Photography never ceases to amaze. Such a brilliant photograph- I had to share it!

I adore this Polaroid ring By Jersey Maid $8.50 . Create your own glass charms a’la carte! Check out their shop on Etsy.

This DIY candy popper they brought to all of us{via the fabulous Posh Paperie & exceptional photographer; Jackie Wonders } is the cutest ever!  For instructions on how to make your very own, head over to Style Me Pretty’s Blog!

This little treat is so adorable in EVERY way! Perfect for a bridal shower or baby shower. For the recipe and ‘how-to’ visit Eat & Drink Pretty. There are some great pie pops on there too!

I found this lovely little “Kilner Sun Jar” by Cox & Cox on The Knotty Bride’s blog – a fun place to spend some time if you need some great ideas for any kind of entertaining! I agree with Alison {Miss. Knotty Bride} – This wonderful little “Kilner Sun Jar” would be a perfect way to warm up/light any backyard celebration – and this little bad-boy stays lit for (5) hours!! :)

Walking around Downtown Portland on a Sunday is so grand! My other half and I live right above the city, so we frequent often. This last Sunday, we noticed these amazing paper chandeliers, that must be covered in tyvek (heat seal) everywhere we went. I of course took pictures of them because I am in awe of them and had to know who the designer was. (I was thinking to my self, of a way to “try” and do something “close” to what I saw………YEAH,RIGHT! My camera and picture taking skills do not show how amazing these chandeliers are. I LOVE THEM!

The artist isn’t local (dammit!). He is from the Netherlands and his GORGEOUS work is all over the world!! So if you are like me and haven’t heard of him, ( you are about to) his name is Tord Boontje.

Midsummer Light could be yours, for $72 from Stella’s on 21st Ave in the Alphabet district.

Until next time,

Stephanie

Its Thursday finds

I adore this digital vintage image of Alice, the Mad Hatter & White Rabbit at their famous tea party from Odilia Fu Designs. It’s got a lot going on in the background even, with the Eiffel Tower, Japanese writing/characters…How creative! Give this as a gift to the friend who loves Alice in Wonderland, I’m sure she will love it!  Are you going to go see the new ALiCe iN WOnDErlAnD  on February 25th? I hear th movie comes out in 3D March 5th, should be spectacular, although I think Johnny Depp looks kinda spooky. :)

Mom would love this antique Mother & Daughter Cabochon by 54 Copper Square. Mother’s Day is coming up {March 14th}. I would wear it and keep it for me because its just so beautiful.

The world we live in today is so wonderful, there is something out there for everyone! Thanks to The Bumbling Bird, they have created this adorable Baker’s necklace for the cooks in our families. If  you are having trouble finding a  bridesmaid gift and need something original for your friend/s, this would be a great gift for the one that loves to bake!

Kalika Design’s vintage watch face ring with bird in flight is exquisite. This steam-punk, neo Victorian, industrial re-purposed recycled ring is incredibly unique. Just right for the perfectly unique ‘green’ individual in your your life.

This vintage antique clock locket from Amazing Collection 4U has charm oozing out of it. I love the London map on its round face, the Big Ben Clock Tower charm and the fact that you can stick a little picture of the one you love inside.

This IS a rad vintage whistle with a gorgeous black and white feather charm. This is just (1) of Ax+Apple’s amazing designs!

Such a delicate piece from The Bumbling Bird. The adorable dangling turquoise birdie lariat just makes the necklace and the fact that the birdie is hand-carved makes it all the more impressive & precious!

“Capture Life” Love that! From Cinnamon Sticks Announcements, this is a wonderful gift for the photographer in your life. Or how about as a perfect ”Thank You” for the photographer that shot your wedding??

What is your wedding sign ???

The Back Porch Shoppe

This Thursdys finds feature worded signs. My husband and I made our own wedding signs for our outdoor wedding. And I was looking at our wedding photos AGAIN and thought, “this would be a great idea to post a blog about.”

Since outdoor weddings seem to be a trend everywhere, makeing or buying these adorable items add such great character. Whether you are having your wedding at home, an outdoor venue, private residence or at the beach. Use them as a prop in photos, or to direct your guests, set them up at the reception, hang them from your chair with ribbon.

One of the signs we made for our wedding sits in the garden now as a precious keepsake.

I picked out some great designers to showcase some examples for you. You can always be the DIY type and go out to grandpa’s wood-shop, get some wood and paint and make them yourself! Have fun with this, I hope this inspires you.

SarahSeven Robins Egg

My favorite dress from Sarah Seven! She brilliantly names all her dresses and gowns, this one is called the Robins Egg, its from her Spring 2009 line, but I think it needs to be brought into 2010! Robins Egg is a blue pleated silk at bodice to waist with pleated bottom. There are three layers to bottom the dress, each adding a bit of volume and a gold ribbon at the waist. I am inlove! By the way, don’t you just love the models glasses? did you notice her pearls?! So perfect!
