Creating a distinctive Garden party

Friday, June 25th, 2010

Now that the sun is finally here, we can plan a “Garden party”, if the rain happens to visit, then make it a “Porch-Party” ;) Spread the word about your party with stylish invitations like the picture below. They are screen printed vintage handkerchiefs. Or if you find that screen printing is too difficult, type out your invitation in a word document and print out on transfer paper, so you may iron the words onto your selected vintage handkerchief/linen How cool is that!?I’m sure your guests will be impressed!

For your table-scape you can be as creative as you like. The picture above show clear glass and white plates dressed up with a simple fuchsia napkin. I love simplicity.  The flowers/centerpieces and napkin are your pops of color. Place seed packets under the silverware as the perfect party favor for your Garden Party.

Chill your beverages in a galvanized bucket filled with ice to leave space in your refrigerator, plus this makes it easy for guests to grab a drink when they get thirsty. Lemonade in glass bottles make a refreshing choice. For the recipe to the adorable little garden party cupcakes CLICK HERE to visit Woman’s Day.com

Scented invitations: A little something special

Tuesday, June 15th, 2010

Let your guests know they are in for something special, by sending a scented invitation. Slip a fragrant flower or leaf into the invitation so its perfume is released once they open the envelope.

Lilac, Heliotrope, Sage Leaf and Lavender are just some of my favorites.

Possiblities are endless, a friend of mine had a fall wedding and on the ribbon that was placed on the invitations, she dabbed a drop of caramel scented oil. Yum!

Round’em Up

Thursday, May 20th, 2010

I have to admit, I have been away from “Blog-Land” way too long and I missed it so! I have been busy with my new business venture {Wedding Planner} and I must say, ” I LOVE MY JOB!” its the best being your own boss!! I realize (now that I’ve got the hang of things, new job, new husband, and so on) I have to prioritize. Meaning: managing my time better. I was finding that I was getting too tired at the end of the day to do some of the things I love most… My Blog being one of them. I’m officially back in the saddle and must say it feels great! It’s hard to get TRULY organized. Its nice to have my little web log here in cyber space, its such a great outlet for me in so many ways!! :)

Any-hew, enough gushy stuff – Since I have been away, I still found time to READ through my faves ;) (tee-hee) and I have “Rounded Them’up” to show you and just so I can keep them for myself! Enjoy!! {More to come}.

It was really hard to pick my favorite. The Inspired Bride’s Blog {one of my favorite reads} has a wonderful “DIY week”. To learn how to make this desert chic center piece and MORE hop over to The Inspired Bride Blog.

If you love to entertain and need some help with the dessert menu, ALWAYS start with Bakerella! She is always whipping up something delicious and super fun. Be sure to look through her archives for some fantastic ideas.

“Love” spelled with cookies, now what could be sweeter??Photo credit: Stephanie Williams Photography never ceases to amaze. Such a brilliant photograph- I had to share it!

I adore this Polaroid ring By Jersey Maid $8.50 . Create your own glass charms a’la carte! Check out their shop on Etsy.

Style Me Pretty = experts in the wedding world and “ALWAYS-ALWAYS” has great ideas, inspiration and advice! This DIY candy popper they brought to all of us{via the fabulous Posh Paperie & exceptional photographer; Jackie Wonders } is the cutest ever!  For instructions on how to make your very own, head over to Style Me Pretty’s Blog!

This little treat is so adorable in EVERY way! Perfect for a bridal shower or baby shower. For the recipe and ‘how-to’ visit Eat & Drink Pretty. There are some great pie pops on there too!

I found this lovely little “Kilner Sun Jar” by Cox & Cox on The Knotty Bride’s blog – a fun place to spend some time if you need some great ideas for any kind of entertaining! I agree with Alison {Miss. Knotty Bride} – This wonderful little “Kilner Sun Jar” would be a perfect way to warm up/light any backyard celebration – and this little bad-boy stays lit for (5) hours!! :)

Toot-a-loo,

Stephanie

Monday, May 17th, 2010

Went shopping a few days ago, to price out some great items for a bride I’m working with and found some great goodies!! I am a sucker for chandeliers (anything that sparkles & glows really). All of them are lovely and would add  just the right amount of color/sparkle to any event or home.
